Every culture has its proverbs, however many don't translate directly. This idea - born of an actual (and somewhat confusing) conversation about “not crossing a river to shout hello” - uses culturally iconic Swedish patterns and design to help outsiders Make Some Sense of Sweden.
Not many of us are living off the land these days, but we still have a human pull toward nature. The potted plant, or “la maceta” is our attempt to reclaim a little of the natural world and bring it inside. With photos of potted plants and quotes from great naturalists such as Hemingway, Muir and Thoreau, La Maceta Photo documents mankind’s cry for mother nature and the great outdoors.

As our ability to stay digitally connected increases, the global postal service, including the United States Postal Service, is rapidly diminishing. Yet little can replace the feeling of receiving a personal letter in the mailbox. In collaboration with photographer Craig Cutler, this project celebrates the beauty of “Snail Mail” - through stunning photography of the graphic patterns found on envelope security liners, and with engaging facts and trivia about mail service around the globe.
